Abstract
The use of cellular phones gives rise to the problem of hand-held transceiver radiation in the direction of a user´s head. This problem can be partially solved by using an antenna with a radiation pattern decreasing the electromagnetic radiation in the user´s head direction and increasing it in the opposite direction. The suggested antenna is a combination of a patch antenna and two short dipoles. It gives the possibility to decrease (not less than 10 dB) the power radiated in the user´s direction. Experimental characteristics of a sample of the antenna designed are presented.
