Abstract
Calorimetric method is an accurate method for loss measurement and has been used quite often to measure the losses of an electrical machine. However, segregating the measured losses to stator and rotor losses is impossible with the conventional calorimetric method. This study suggests a modified calorimetric method to measure the no-load stator core losses. The proposed calorimeter is constructed and the uncertainty regarding the measurement is also analyzed. Finally, the measured losses are compared with the FE simulated result.
