Abstract
It is shown that, using the system identification procedure, a real system can be represented approximately by a complex model with half-reduced order. The model is estimated by the least-squares method extended to the complex case. The model is found to be quite insensitive to coefficient perturbations. Complex digital filtering is considered as an application of the proposed model.<>
