  • Abstract
    The paper discusses a solar controller which is designed by using microcontroller Mc9S08QG8C to solve the problems in present solar power system, such as, low efficiency, short lifespan of storage batteries and so on. The controller can keep the solar battery working at its max power output point by using promotion-demotion voltage DC/DC switching circuit and voltage perturbation method which can fulfill the max power point tracing and it can also measure the terminal voltages of the storage batteries in a real time and protect the batteries while charging and discharging. It improves the efficiency of the solar system and prolong the lifespan of storage batteries because of high reliability with the combination of hardware and software,.
