Abstract :
Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology provides an excellent means for wireless positioning due to its high resolution capability in the time domain. Many recursion algorithms are used in UWB location methods. However, to maintain good convergence, these recursion algorithms require an accurate initial estimate which is often difficult to obtain in some actual applications. To avoid the convergence problem, we propose a triangle time of arrival (TTOA) position algorithm based on UWB technology. TTOA algorithm has an analytical solution. And it requires only one reference node (RN) to determine the location of the blind node (BN), rather than at least three RNs in other recursion algorithms. TTOA is a time-based positing technique. It can precisely locate a mobile BN. Simulation results show that TTOA algorithm can provide centimeter accuracy in ranging
