Abstract :
The first two of the larger-bore, 1.8-m SSC (Superconducting Super Collider) dipoles have been built and tested. The 2-D design of the coil using the new, wider cables and the iron cross section is reviewed and the coil ends are described. Results from tests, including quench performance, magnetic field measurements, and strain-gauge data, are presented.<>
