Abstract :
Traditional digital close-loop fiber optic gyro (FOG) takes plusmnpi/2 square wave modulation for signal processing, in which way the circuit will generate additional cross-coupling error, thus affecting the accuracy of the system. In this paper a new modulating scheme for FOG is taken, in which the determinate five points of the light intensity detection curve are modulated. Theoretical and experimental results show that this approach could effectively restrain the cross-signal processing crosstalk and improve the accuracy of the detection system, and also ensure that the FOG has large dynamic range.
