Abstract
Non-inferiority testing is an alternative method of statistical analysis that is useful when equivalence or near equivalence with secondary benefits are important considerations. When the treatment groups are expected to have only small differences, non-inferiority testing can reduce the required sample sizes and the overall cost of testing. Product performance and life testing are two applications that demonstrate usefulness with non-inferiority testing. Practical application of non-inferiority test methods with life testing is described in this work.
