Abstract :
This paper presents an array of H-plane horn antennas with a high radiation efficiency in the THz band. The reduction of losses is achieved by using the complete 1D/3D-EBG (electromagnetic bandgap) waveguide. This waveguide confines the energy by placing a 1D-EBG multilayer structure on laterals and a 3D-EBG structure (wood-pile) on the upper and lower regions. The complete EBG waveguide can be bent and widened to form a horn antenna with a low loss of energy. Results for the complete EBG waveguide, an H-plane power divider, an H-plane horn antenna and the complete array are shown in this paper.
