Abstract :
The prediction of harmonic distortion with multiple nonsinusoidal and variable loads together with the interpretation of the associated harmonics measurements in power systems like those found in mining requires an extensive work. In this paper, a methodology for harmonic analysis of power systems with multiple nonsinusoidal loads is proposed. The magnitude and phase of multiple nonsinusoidal loads are assumed to be random variables with specified probability density distribution. With digital simulation based on Monte Carlo, probability distribution functions are determined allowing the quantification of diversity factors for the deterministic approach, which gives a valuable tool for the prediction of the resulting distortion caused by multiple harmonic sources
