Abstract :
Governments provide services to their citizens. Organisations including government departments necessarily require built infrastructure in order to deliver these services and carry out their business. The effective and efficient management of built assets and infrastructure is called Facilities Management (FM). The three enablers of FM are cited as "leadership and governance; resource capacity and capability; and management information systems (MIS) and data". This paper discusses the issues of governance, resource capacity & capability, and management information & data with respect to their improvement - hence enhancement of the management of service delivery by the Australian Government to its citizens.
