Abstract :
Modern thin effective microwave absorbers providing small radar reflection over a wide frequency band must possess both dielectric and magnetic losses. The value of magnetic losses depends on the absorber´s permeability. The problem is in that only few materials demonstrate magnetic properties at the ultra high frequency range. Soft magnetic wire-shaped materials with an amorphous, nanocrystalline and granular character, which demonstrate an improvement of the characteristics of different electromagnetic and electronic devices, have been developed. A brief review is presented of the properties and applications of the new absorbing material.
