Abstract :
Three methods for estimating the equivalent core-loss resistance of vector-controlled interior permanent-magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs) are comparatively analyzed in the paper. Among them a new identification method based on expressing the IPMSM equivalent core-loss resistance, in steady-state conditions, as a function of direct- and quadrature-axis currents, at fixed values of load torque and rotor speed, is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is experimentally verified.
