Abstract :
In this paper a spatially-adaptive, edge-directed approach for video deinterlacing is proposed. The algorithm first checks for edge existence within the region around the pixel to be interpolated and adapts the deinterlacing method following the contour direction. This adaptive system keeps the edges sharp and provides good quality deinterlaced video sequences. Experiments demonstrate better deinterlaced output as compared to other standard implementations.
