Abstract
Pepper presented, a novel, simple, low cost and elastic way of serving cloud platform. It is built by leveraging Hadoop and Zookeeper. The design of Pepper demonstrates its ability to run web applications in isolation and scale dynamically on a cluster. Pepper was designed using older version of Hadoop and hence has fewer limitations when compared with YARN. This paper discusses limitations of running Pepper over YARN and presents alternative approaches.
