Abstract
As the world pays close attention to the environmental protection, exploitation and utilization of resources, the green public procurement (GPP) has been explored and practiced in some developed countries in order to promote the enterprise´s cleaner production. This paper first addresses the current practices of the GPP in China, then discusses the barriers of carrying out the GPP from the legislation, tools and environmental ideas. Finally, the paper presents some suggestions on promoting the implementation of GPP in China. Data were derived primarily from an analysis of secondary sources (i.e. previously published newspapers).
