Abstract :
In this paper two models which simulate arc furnace flicker are presented. Arc-voltage and arc-resistance are modelled using probability techniques. A practical 33 MVA furnace and a scaled laboratory model are simulated and compensation techniques investigated. The flicker severity values obtained from the simulations are compared to those actually measured
