Abstract :
The ITU-T recommendation 1.610 specifies operation and maintenance (OAM) standardization for ATM-based B-ISDN. This specification supports a point-to-point configuration. No OAM standardization is specified yet for the multiaccess ATM network, which is growing in demand for establishing economical private networks. This paper discusses OAM functions for the multiaccess ATM customer network. The paper focuses on fault management and network configuration management to support a dual bus-based customer network in a B-ISDN environment
