Abstract :
In WCDMA system, the BER performance of the Rake receiver greatly depends on the design of channel estimator unit. The application of LMS and other adaptive filtering algorithms to WCDMA uplink receiver was proposed in 2002. In this paper, the design channel estimator and equalizer based on the usage of modified block LMS is the center of focus. By simulation, the performance of block LMS algorithm is shown to be superior to that of WMSA algorithm previously proposed, especially when the channel condition changes rapidly
