Abstract
The design of a three-channel driver/receiver chip is discussed. The electrical characteristics of the chip meet the requirements for one class of standard interface. The chip features differential current-mode drivers and differential receivers, and is designed in a 6-GHz/1.0-μm BiFET process. Design techniques used to meet the requirements of the interface specification while remaining within limitations imposed by technology and economic factors are discussed. Results obtained with the chip are presented
