Abstract :
In this paper we apply a recently developed method, which combines genetic algorithm, local optimization and frequency reconfigurability, to the design of a quad-band antenna for vehicular GSM/DCS/PCS communications. The reliability and robustness of the performances of the output structure, in terms of frequency response, have been checked by use of dedicated simulations. Overall, the antenna design generated with the proposed algorithm shows very good performances in terms of frequency matching; moreover, reliability and robustness checks have provided satisfactory results.
