Abstract :
This paper presents design, realization, and characterization of a frequency scanning leaky-wave antenna comprising a printed metallo-dielectric surface of the mushroom-type. Utilizing TM leaky-waves to create the antenna´s radiation enables the design of an interference-free monolithic feeding structure. Slight modifications of the standard mushroom surface facilitate the continuous frequency scan of the antenna beam from negative to positive angles.
