Abstract :
In this work are established the criteria for implementing a system for detecting and locating faults using state observers, based on the mathematical model of a rotor bearing mass system (SRMC), known as Jeffcott rotor. SRMC behaviour is analysed, taking the unbalance and the misalignment as main source of mechanical vibration to determine the observability of SRMC. During the development of the equations of motion of SRMC the damping takes great significance in the stability of the system.
