Abstract
This study uses frameworks from the supply chain management (SCM) and strategy literatures to explore the relationship among learning, trust, and innovation in Chinese auto component sectors. Statistical analysis of the responses of 81 Yangtze River delta auto component manufacturing companies leads to the development of a strategic relational typology which is useful in explaining auto-component manufacturing sector has successfully shifted away from the era of ´contract´ and ´catalogue´ mindset to ´network´ and ´innovation´ mindset and could be a good model for others to follow.
