Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed a novel two-step type on time of arrival (TOA) estimation for transmitted-reference (TR) transceiver for impulse radio Ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) systems. Two-step method includes two parts: initial signal acquisition (ISA) and finite timing estimation (FTE). We propose the threshold selection method at ISA section. This method give the short time and can be applied in TR transceiver technique. At FTE part, we use the maximum energy selection (MES) for finding TOA estimation value. The simulation results show that the proposed method out performs than the conventional technique when we use TR transceiver.
