Environment Carrying Capacity Evaluation in Shaanxi Province

Based on the current environmental situation in Shaanxi Province and the conception of Environmental Carrying Capacity (ECC) , an evaluation index system of ECC in Shaanxi Province was established, including environmental pollutant-accommodating capacity (EPC), resource supply capacity (RSC) and man-made support capacity (MSC). In the meanwhile, the ECC in Shaanxi Province from 2001 to 2006 was evaluated through combining Analytic Hierarchy Process and State-space method. Thus the paper intends to provide theoretical basis for Shaanxi Province in making an effective environment protection strategy.
