Abstract
Flexible assembly systems (FAS) have attracted considerable interest in the area of manufacturing automation and promises to be very efficient approach for producing small and medium sized batches of products. A very important problem which affects the performance of FAS is machine loading problem. In this paper we model machine loading problem as nonlinear integer optimization problem and develop a simulated annealing algorithm to solve the problem
