Abstract

BIM is always a major concern in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. The paper described the dynamics of digital technology in Chinese architectural design industry in recent years, analyzes the new opportunities and challenges which our design firms will face in the future . On the basis of this background , This paper describes the basic principles of BIM and its superiority, analyzes the BIM´s five levels use in architectural design industry , provides a lot of suggestions how Architects involved in building a BIM to improve the quality and efficiency of architectural design.
