Abstract
Ultra wide band Time-Hopping Impulse-Radio (UWB THIR) received renewed attention in recent years. This approach is known to achieve high data rates in multiuser environment. The current work introduces coding into the original uncoded scheme and provides a simple decoder accompanied by its performance analysis. A new system model is derived and the capacity of the system is calculated. It is shown that the original scheme can not achieve capacity. A new iterative decoding algorithm is also introduced. Simulation results reveal that the proposed coding and decoding approach compare favorably with other TH-IR UWB communication schemes.
