Abstract
First part of this paper deals with new results in area of intracavitary microwave applicators which can be used e.g. for prostate cancer treatment and for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) treatment as well. And for some other intracavitary treatment as well. Main aim of this paper is to verify and thus support experimental results given in published paper: “Prospects for radiofrequency hyperthermia applicator research. I-Preoptimised prototypes of endocavitary applicators with matching interfaces for prostate hyperplasia and cancer treatments“, this time by EM simulations of SAR distribution in the treated area. Contribution of this paper is based on comparisons of EM field simulations results vs. experimental evaluations. Second part of this paper consists of design of microwave intracavitary applicator which works at frequency 2450 MHz and can be used in treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
