  • Abstract
Atractylodes lancea (thunb.) DC is a kind of geoherbs. The superior variety by the selecting of the A. lancea is vital to promoting production. In the present study, we had established the growth model for stem thickening, plant height increment and leaf area expansion using the logistic equation with four parameters. The growth parameters of four type´s A. lancea were compared. The prediction on the growth of A. lancea from two sites was made. The results showed that the growth and development information about different various type A. lancea can be described by the parameters of their logistic equations. The four-parameter logistic model had a good predictive power for the growth of A. lancea. The long durative time of the logarithmic growth stage for stem diameter increment, the high growth rate at the middle of the logarithmic growth stage for plant height growth and leaf area expansion in the incised leaftype A. lancea. resulted in the high growth rate of the whole plant. The incised leaf-type A. lancea was selected out according to the parameters of the four-parameter logistic equations.
