Abstract
The antenna plays a very important role to track any object using Automatic Identification (AUID) technology. The radio frequency identification (RFID) is one of the wireless technologies which come under AUID system. In RFID technology there are mainly two antennas: tag antenna and reader antenna. So we have design some effective antennas so that the performance parameter of such antennas must be improved. In this paper we foremost designed a rectangular patch antenna for RFID application. In the next step an O- shape metamaterial structure was created on the patch to improve parameters of the rectangular patch antenna. The designed O-shape metamaterial structure antenna has negative permeability and positive permittivity value. The bandwidth also increases by manifolds of O- shape metamaterial structure compared to rectangular patch antenna.
