Abstract :
The scatterometer of HY-2 satellite is a rotating pencil-beam radar. It has a one-meter dish reflector antenna with two beams, the outer beam is VV-polarized and the inner beam is HH-polarized. This paper provides the in-orbit processing and calibration results of HY-2 scatterometer. After analyzing the acquired data for natural targets from the Amazon Rainforest and the Sahara Desert, the in-orbit calibration algorithms are verified and the results are also presented.
