Abstract :
With converter-fed super-large drives, there is frequently the problem that due to limited apparent power of a single converter the machine has to be equipped with several parallel converter systems. Whereas hard parallel connection of converters at a common bus bar on the basis of hardly avoidable circulating currents is unfavorable, the electrical machine is generally equipped with several parallel winding systems. These are each fed by one converter. The necessary optimization of the winding design at such a system configuration with regard to short-circuit stress and additional losses at the failure of separate winding systems is introduced in the following paper
