Abstract :
In modelling PWM voltage-regulator dynamics the circuit is assumed to be a linear time-variant system and width-modulation action on the output fil ter is represented by a suitable set of impulse generators applied at each switching instant. Once the feedback-loop is open the "comb" function of its characteristic response can be expressed by means of a recursive matrix relation; the latter is Fourier-transformed thus achieving the continuous function Gloop (jw). In the discontinuous conduction mode, the procedu re directly provides an analytic expression. In any case, this exact model requires mlnlmum compu ting resources and runs on most popular personal computers.
