Abstract :
In China, many historic and cultural blocks in ancient capitals fend for themselves.The Messy architectural forms, the fuzzy property rights make it very difficult to take comprehensive environmental management. How to deal with the relationship between history and future, human and nature, are important issues to resolve. The text takes Shichahai area in Xicheng District of Beijing as an example.Five aspects of contents referred to urban environmental management are traditional dwellings, heritage sites, traffic conditions, scenery environment, trade and tourism.These five factors are interlinked but constrained with each other.
