Abstract :
This paper deals with investigation of geometrical dimension influence of multi-barrier rotor on reluctance synchronous motor (RSM) performances. Power factor, efficiency, developed electromagnetic torque and torque ripple are the main investigated parameters. The influence of number of rotor barriers, width of barriers, width of rotor pole pitch, gap and width of magnetic ribs is investigated for the chosen rotor. All calculations have been made by means of finite element method (FEM). On this base, the real prototype of barrier rotor has been fabricated and analyzed performances verified by many measurements. All tests of RSM barrier rotor are compared with asynchronous motor with the same stator
