Abstract :
Historically a number of different approaches have been done to establish mechatronics, since mechatronics is a multi-disciplinary technical area. In this paper, an approach from electrical engineering is reviewed, and then present status and future perspective of mechatronics are discussed. One of the origins of mechatronics is “power electronics”. The evolution of mechatronics from power electronics to intelligent mechatronics is shown
