Abstract :
Frequency dependent analysis of shielded asymmetric coplanar waveguide (CPW) step discontinuity is presented for the first time, based on the mode matching procedure. Special attention is given to the modal orthogonality criterion and the conservation of power. There is a good agreement between the calculated scattering parameters of a symmetric CPW step discontinuity using the developed analysis and those published previously.<>
