Abstract :
A 5V 50A (250W) Switching Power Supply operating at 100 KHz has been developed. For efficient operation in high voltage power transistors with a minumum VCEX of 800V, a new base drive (The TRI-STATE DRIVE) has been proposed and its effective result has been successfully verified. New hybrid IC´s were then developed, incorporating these circuits, and specific applications designs attempted.
