Optimization of topside electromagnetic environment [ships]

The ship´s topside electromagnetic environment is becoming more complex. The number of antennas has been increasing, radiation characteristics are becoming more varied, and there are more modes of operation and a larger library of radiating parameters. For the improvement of EMC characteristics on ships it is necessary to optimize the topside and the arrangement of antennas. The approach to optimization of the arrangement of antennas and topside design on ships based on the use of method of moments is proposed. Particular recommendations on the manual arrangement of antennas and topside design on ships by computer aided techniques and the results of measurements on ships have been extensively utilized
