Abstract :
This paper describes a robust method based on using a rank filter for constant false alarm rate (CFAR) threshold setting during the code acquisition process in a DS and DS-CDMA spread spectrum receiver. The method is robust because the probability of false alarms (Pfa) can be fixed independent of the input signal distribution, i.e., interference conditions. The results are presented for three example Pfa values
