Abstract
This work utilizes parabolic equations (PE) to determine the path loss exponent in medium waves propagation. For this case the propagation in 15° to the paraxial direction and the implicit finite differences scheme of the Crank-Nicolson type is used. To obtain the electric parameters of the ground, a campaign of measurements of the received electric field strength was performed near Brasília city. To validate the model a campaign of measurements was carried out in around of Brasília city in six routes. The frequency used was 980 KHz. The results compared with the experimental results showed good agreement, with a less computational effort.
