Abstract
The linear quadratic optimal problems for a servo drive system with brushless or d.c. motor are presented. The problems with finite final time and with fixed and free end-point are considered. Symmetrical algorithms for the both problems are proposed. These algorithms simplify the optimal control law implementation by comparison with classical procedures. The optimal control ensures a good behaviour of the system and the decrease of the energy consumption
