Abstract :
Magnetic nanoparticles have a variety of applications in medicine. One of these applications is magnetic imaging, where functionalized nanoparticles bind to specific targets in the human body. The distribution of the particles can be reconstructed from the magnetic field measured outside the body by means of minimum norm algorithms. This article describes a measurement setup and procedure for phantom measurements of bound magnetic nanoparticle. Minimum norm approaches for the estimation of the distribution of the nanoparticles are described and first results applying these algorithms to the data from phantom measurements are presented.
