Abstract :
A quasi-optical active antenna circuit with class-C amplifier characteristics can be modulated for broadband communication applications. Results from a 10 GHz planar quasi-optical oscillator/modulator circuit with a 3 dB modulation bandwidth of 1.4 GHz (/spl plusmn/700 MHz) are presented. The oscillator/modulator is linear up to a modulation index of 100%.<>
