Abstract
Final approach and landing are for an airplane the most critical phases, statistically speaking, with respect to accidents. ICAO gives functional requirements about airport power systems, in order to guarantee continuity and integrity of service for airport lights and radio aids. This paper deals with a new method to analyze and evaluate reliability of the above airport power systems in order to compare the reliability indexes with those imposed by ICAOs regulations, in all the operative environments. This method relies extensively on direct Monte Carlo numerical simulations and uses analytical solutions to validate the results
