Abstract :
The prediction of pathloss is a very important step in designing a mobile radio system and accurate prediction methods are needed to determine the parameters of a radio system which will provide efficient and reliable coverage of a specific service area. In this paper, modelling of a GSM, CDMA, WCDMA and LTE signals due to large-scale variations is presented. Hata-Okumura and Cost 231 Hata models are implemented to analyze the pathloss effects due to large scale variations and to estimate the coverage area of a base station (BS) in GSM, CDMA and WCDMA systems and Long term Evolution (LTE) networks. The results are evaluated with respect to different parameters and analyzed taking into consideration the urban, suburban and rural areas near Visakhapatnam.
