Abstract
Pain can influence brain processing on many levels, not only in terms of proper pain processing but also in terms of consciousness such as attention, information selection, anticipation . Functional neuroimaging attempts to distinguish brain responses related to the expectation of pain from those associated with the experience of pain. The aim of the present study is to investigate brain regions involved in the emotional aspect of pain perception using beamforming technique in the alpha range.
