Abstract :
The UWB (ultra wide band) technology can play an effective role in the fieldbus control system. It can offer extra facilities not offered by current available techniques in industrial environments. The aimed advances of UWB are that high data rates, low power consumption, precise ranging capabilities, resistance to multi-path fading, and penetration of dense objects. But, owing to a lot of short packets in the FCS applications and high channel acquisition time in UWB, the delay is larger than in other application. This paper studies a dynamic length mechanism about unite frame for MAC layer of FCS based on UWB. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed dynamic length mechanism about unite frame for MAC layer of FCS based on UWB. Simulation results show that the special MAC protocol is effective to improve on performance of the delay in the FCS based on UWB.
